The road junction between New Road and Above Bar Street, in central Southampton is seen in this plein air work. The foreground dominant building is what was the ABC cinema, with a number of shops situated around its base. Behind is a taller building used by the university. A recent addition is the bay for parking electric scooters, at the entrance to Palmerston park.
