marooned astronaut confronting monster

I always liked the painted illustrations found on paperback books, particularly from the 70's and 80's, found in large quantities at booksellers. This digital painting is my take on them, and features a marooned astronaut fighting for his life against an alien creature a small distance away. He is armed with only a small weapon and is hiding behind a rock for his best chance of a shot. I posed and took a photo of myself for thefigure of the astronaut. Painted in 2008.
