Horse in New Forest

Horse in New Forest

This painting shows a brown horse in the New Forest, Hampshire. It is based on a number of photographs taken during spring at that location. The horse was not there but was added to the composition from another photograph taken on the same day. It is painted in oils on an acrylic base, the canvas being sized at 16” x 20”. The painting took a few days to do, being completed early June 2014.

The Twelfth Doctor Who

The Twelfth Doctor Who

This digital painting celebrates the arrival of the 12th Doctor, played by Peter Capaldi, in August 2014. With him is the current assistant Clara Oswald, as played by Jenna Coleman. The other figure overseeing them is the first Dr Who, as played by William Hartnell. Behind them is their TARDIS, a transportation device that travels through space and time, its appearance stuck as a 20th century police box.
Painted in August 2014 at A4 size.

Southampton Western Docks Container Terminal as seen from Marchwood

Southampton Western Docks Container Terminal as seen from Marchwood

This painting shows a man fishing at Marchwood on the River Test, Hampshire. On the opposite side of the River can be seen part of the Container Terminal at Southampton Western Docks, the second largest in the UK. Three large container ships can be seen moored at the facility, which introduced most of the modern cranes depicted in this painting during 2013/ 14. Another, smaller ship, is leaving the port with a much smaller consignment of containers. The Test is most famous for its Brown Trout and Grayling fish.
The painting was done in acrylics on a red ground base using a canvas board measuring 16” x 20”, during spring 2014.

Tudor House Museum, Southampton acrylic painting WIP

Tudor House Museum, Southampton acrylic painting

This image show a progression of a painting of Tudor House, Southampton, in the county of Hampshire, UK. It is a grade 1 listed building in the 'old town' of the city. The oldest parts of the main building are from the 1400's, though an earlier Norman building as ruins can be seen connected to the main structure. Tudor House has had many changes over the centuries in terms of use and buildings added. The current version is the Edwardian version of what a Tudor house should look like, when it became Southampton museum in 1912. The building was closed between 2002- 2011 where it was extensively restored to preserve it for centuries to come.
